Dorm squatter sued for refusing to leave
A former student who refuses to leave her dorm room after dropping out of classes is being sued by the New York college, reports The Associated Press.
Lisa Palmer, 32, dropped out of Hunter College in 2016, but has remained in her dorm room despite several notices to vacate. The lawsuit states Palmer was denied summer housing in 2016 and was notified she would be charged $150 per day if she stayed.
The college served her a 30-day eviction notice in September of 2017, yet she remained. The lawsuit says Palmer’s outstanding bill amounts to $94,000.
Palmer plans to stay in the dorm and fight the lawsuit.
