D’oh! ‘Simpsons’ writer spills one of show’s big secrets

It’s a burning question among fans of FOX’s “The Simpsons.”

Exactly which Springfield is home to Homer and his clan?

Well, it isn’t Massachusetts, according to a veteran writer on the show.

Mike Reiss recently told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that Springfield is “nowhere,” explaining the location was chosen because there are more than 40 Springfields across the U.S., The Associated Press reports.

Reiss was promoting his new book, “Springfield Confidential: Jokes, Secrets, and Outright Lies from a Lifetime Writing for The Simpsons.”

The show enters its 30th season this fall, remaining of TV’s longest-running series.
