DHS reports a record 27 COVID-19 deaths in Wisconsin
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Wisconsin Department of Health Services Wednesday reported 27 new COVID-19 related deaths in the state, the highest one-day total since the virus began.
It marks the first time more than 20 people have died in a single day since May, when DHS recorded 22 coronavirus-related deaths May 27 and 20 May 30. A total of 1,327 Wisconsinites have died from the virus, 89% of which were 60 or older.
The state reported 2,319 new positive tests out of 11,792, bringing the total number of cases to 122,274.
