Debate over medical marijuana continues in Wisconsin

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The debate over medical marijuana is starting up again in Wisconsin.
Republican senator Van Wanggaard proposed legalizing the use of cannabis-based oils for those suffering from seizures. State democrats want to expand the legal use of marijuana to include those suffering from debilitating medical conditions.
It’s a proposal state Senator Jennifer Shilling says she has seen a lot of support for.
“This continues to be one that people are evolving on, that folks who support medicinal marijuana, the constituents in my office who are supportive of it, have outnumbered the opposition by more than a three to one margin,” said Senator Shilling.
The proposal by Democratic state Senator Jon Erpenbach and Representative Chris Taylor would allow the use of medical marijuana for anyone prescribed by a doctor.
