De Soto student facing possible ‘terroristic threat’ charges

Student taken into custody on Friday

DE SOTO, Wis. (WKBT) – An area middle school student was arrested Friday.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Department says the student could face ‘terroristic threat’ charges.

It follows an investigation that started earlier this week.

However, authorities aren’t saying what specifically the threat involved.

A deputy met with school administrators and the 12-year-old student on Tuesday.

There will be additional law enforcement presence at De Soto schools next week, but the sheriff’s department says there is no immediate threat to the safety of students or staff.
