Davis leads Badgers to season-opening win

Johnny Davis scored a team-high 15 points to lead Wisconsin men’s basketball to an 81-58 season-opening win over St. Francis-Brooklyn Tuesday night at the Kohl Center.

Davis shot 6-of-15 from the floor and added five assists, three rebounds and two steals.

Chucky Hepburn became the first Badgers freshman to start a season opener since Devin Harris in 2001. Hepburn scored 13 points.

The Badgers shot just under 44 percent from the floor as well as 45 percent from three-point range. Wisconsin’s defense held St. Francis-Brooklyn under 40 percent field goal shooting.
