Dave & Barb Skogen Boys & Girls Club in Holmen celebrates enrollment milestone

HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) – The Dave & Barb Skogen Boys & Girls club is celebrating a milestone. More than 1,000 members are now enrolled at that club.

There was a celebration for the milestone Wednesday afternoon.

Dave and Barb Skogen joined in.

The CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse Jake Erickson says it’s a big deal since the Holmen club has only been open for a year and a half.

“To get there as quick as we have just shows the need for a program like this in a community like Holmen. We have a great after-school program, great teen population, we’re offering academic services, we now have mental health services,” said Erickson.

Erickson said with all the kids enrolled in the upcoming summer programs, the enrollment number is jumping to 1,200.

He hopes they can serve a thousand more in the future.
