Dale Bunge

Dale Bunge, of Spring Grove, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021, on a beautiful Spring morning doing what he loved to do. He was beginning the field work for another season of planting. He was a farmer.

HeDale Wayne Bunge was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, Minnesota. Dale was a 1976 graduate and valedictorian of Spring Grove Pubic School.

Like his grandparents and parents he wanted to be a farmer – willing to get up at all hours of the day or night to milk cows or stay up with a newborn calf and then work all day in the fields. Dale’s brother and sisters remember the summer days of going double speed to get the hay in ahead of the rain clouds. He was a passionate advocate for the small family farm.

In the early 1990s, Dale planned, created, and built from the ground up his own farm. By 1993, the barn was finished and he and the cows moved in. In the years that followed, he stepped up time and time again to tend both his acreage, as well as his parents’. Dale was a generational farmer who cherished the opportunity to work side by side with his grandparents and parents. These family roots strengthened him, during the good times and the difficult times. He valued honesty and truth and he had a deep love for God, HIS creation, and family.

He will be remembered as an ambitious, smart, and strong son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Dale was preceded in death by his grandparents, Franklin and Hilda Bunge and John and Emma Rostad; and his infant niece, Sari Bingham.

He is survived by his parents, Wayne and Marian Bunge; his sisters, Janet (Abid) Rangoonwala, Karen (Scott) Bingham, Lynn (David) Susag, and his brother, Don (Sara) Bunge; and loving nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held in celebration of Dale’s life on Saturday, April 24, 2021.

Roble Funeral Home of Spring Grove, is assisting the family with arrangements.
