Dahl Subaru delivers blankets to chemotherapy patients at Gundersen

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Dahl Subaru workers delivered blankets Tuesday to chemotherapy patients at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

One of the side effects of chemotherapy is heightening patients’ sensitivity to cold. This side effect can last days or even a few weeks.

Dahl Subaru employees, who handed out 80 blankets Tuesday, have distributed blankets to chemo patients for years. This was the first time they have been back in person since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Dealership officials hope to continue the tradition for years to remind patients that people outside the hospital walls care for them, said sales manager Tony Benson.

“It’s just something to let everyone know that Subaru of America and Dahl Automotive serves the community,” Benson said.

Dahl Subaru hosts other community events such as pet adoption and its annual Share the Love.
