Cub Scouts inviting new families to join

The Cub Scouts is open to both boys and girls from kindergarten to 5th grade

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – As the school year kicks off, so does a new season of scouting.

The Cub Scouts is open to both boys and girls from kindergarten to 5th grade.

There are 75 elementary schools area-wide that will be inviting families to join.

According to Scout leaders, the program does more than just teach kids how to build a fire.

“From a parent’s perspective, it’s a great way for their child to make new friends, have new experiences, and also a really good way for their kids to grow in their confidence as they try new things,” says Scout Executive CEO Joe Carlson.

There’s a directory of area schools where parents and students can join on the Gateway Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America website.
