COVID hospitalizations drop at Gundersen
Numbers dip for first time since July
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Gundersen Health System in La Crosse saw COVID-19 hospitalizations drop for the first time since early July last week, according to a release Monday.
“While one week doesn’t make a trend, teaming up with family, friends and neighbors to help limit COVID-related hospitalizations is a great step and can push case counts even lower in the weeks ahead,” said Gundersen in the release.
The health system thanked everyone for their efforts to keep the community safe.
Gundersen recommends layering protections for the best defense. Being vaccinated, wearing a mask, social distancing and washing hands significantly lowers your risk of severe COVID-19 infection.
The update also reminded the public that anyone over age 12 can get the vaccine for free at Gundersen.
Gundersen continues to be ready to offer third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, pending approval from the FDA and CDC.
