COVID-19 vaccines safe for pregnant women

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)- There is now more evidence that the Pfizer and Moderna Vaccines are safe to get during pregnancy.

Experts at Mayo Health told News 8 that two studies published this week show the two COVID-19 vaccines do not increase the risk of Miscarriage.

A team at the CDC studied data of more than 2,000 pregnant women who got COVID shots and it found there was no higher risk among the vaccinated women than pregnant women in general.

Mayo Health doctors say there isn’t any evidence that shows any vaccine is unsafe for pregnant women.

“The COVID Vaccine at this point, it been found safe in pregnant women as well as women who are interested in conceiving. There has not been evidence of any vaccine to cause an increased risk of miscarriage or inability to conceive,” said Mayo Clinic OBGYN, Dr. Rebecca Scarseth.

Mayo Clinic doctors recommend the COVID-19 vaccine to pregnant women or women who plan to become pregnant.
