COVID-19 vaccine doses steadily increasing at area health care systems
Gundersen Health System says it expects to receive 1,200 doses each week
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Vaccine supply is increasing in our area as vaccination rates continue to climb.
Now 1 in 4 people in La Crosse County has received at least one dose of the vaccine.
That’s according to the state’s Department of Health Services.
Gundersen Health System says the vaccine supply is increasing slowly.
System officials say most first-dose vaccination appointments that had to be canceled have been rescheduled.
The system will get 1,200 vaccine doses this week.
“That’s what we’re planning for. If we get more, we’re able to open up clinics and advance and add additional times so that we can get more patients in,” said Roxanne Potts, a registered nurse who is Gundersen’s COVID-19 vaccine clinic administrative director.
Mayo Clinic Health System says its vaccination numbers also are rising.
