COVID-19 Relief Fund provides assistance for international students at Winona State
Fund created by the WSU Foundation
WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) – International students at Winona State are getting some support during the pandemic.
The WSU Foundation created the ‘International Student and Scholar Services COVID- 19 Relief Fund’.
It provides aid to international students experiencing financial hardships.
International students are not allowed to work off campus unless it is part of their required experience or without approval from the federal government.
While they aren’t from the area, international students still have an impact when they come to learn here.
“We are able to share money with students. We’ve also directed students and we continue to direct students to the Winona State Warrior Cupboard, which is an on-campus food shelf,” said Kit Klepinger, International Student and Scholar Services director.
224 international students were on WSU’s campus during the 2019-20 school year.
Contributions can be made on the WSU website.
When donating, select “Other” under the designation field and enter “30376-COVID-19 Student Relief” in the text box.
