Council approves sale of Buzz’s Bikes building for $10
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse’s common council is approving the sale of the former Buzz’s Bikes building on Rose Street.
The city bought the historic building three years ago, but was not able to develop it in that time.
A local developer is buying the building for $10 and plans to renovate it to include a business and apartments.
Mayor Tim Kabat says he hopes the sale can help revitalize the north side.
“All in all, it’s a really exciting project, it’s been a long time coming. There’s been a lot of energy, a lot of resources expended to basically preserve that building and keep it from being demolished, so we’re very hopeful that we’ll see a great development plan for that property,” said Kabat.
