Coulee Region Humane Society prepping for week-long Adopt-A-Thon
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT)- For anyone looking to add a new furry family member, the Coulee Region Humane Society has you covered.
The organization is gearing up for its 18th annual Adopt-A-Thon, and for the first time ever, the event will run an entire week from Aug. 29-Sept. 4.
Starting Monday, Aug. 29, patrons will be welcomed to “Furassic Park,” this year’s official theme.
All week long, adopters can name their own adoption fee for all cats and kittens, and select dogs. Small animals like rabbits, Guinea pigs, and hamsters will be free to adopt.
The humane society says it reaches peak capacity in the summer and fall, making it the perfect time to promote adoptions.
“The goal of the Adopt-A-Thon is to get as many animals out of the shelter and into loving homes as possible, and that way we can make room for more animals in need as they come in,” said Ashley Voxland, the humane society’s management assistant. ”
All adopters have to submit an application and get approved by the humane society before they can adopt. Once approved they can schedule a meet with an
animal of interest prior to adoption.
The humane society says you can visit their website or call 608-781-4014 with any questions.
