Surface Map

Good evening… it was a very wet night as a band of heavy rain brought between one and four inches of rain across the area. The areas hardest hit areas were in an arc from parts of southeast Minnesota into western and central Wisconsin. For the most part, we were able to handle the rain, with only minor areas of flooding being reported. Now that the rain has pretty much ended, look for some big changes to come for the next few days as cooler and less humid air moves in from the northwest.

Tonight's Forecast

Tonight's Lows North

Tonight's Lows South

We’ll start the evening under clouds, but those clouds will clear as we head through the night. You can shut the air conditioners off tonight and open the windows because temperatures are going to take a tumble into the upper 40s to near 50 in the north and the lower to middle 50s in the south.

Tomorrow's Forecast

Tomorrow's Highs South

Tomorrow's Highs North

Friday looks very nice. We can expect some morning sunshine, however, by afternoon, expect a few cumulus clouds to build up during the afternoon. High temperatures will feel refreshingly cool after our spell of warm and humid weather. Look for highs mainly in the middle 60s to near 70. It will be a bit breezy, with northwest wind at 10 to 20 mph. We’ll see a clear and cool night tomorrow night. Look for lows to drop into the middle and upper 40s to near 50. A few of our traditional cool spots could see lows in the upper 30s.

Sunshine returns Saturday. It will be another pleasant day, with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

8 Day Forecast

Looking ahead… expect another beautiful day Sunday to wrap up the weekend. We can expect more sunshine and highs in the lower 70s. Unfortunately, the weather looks to become a bit more active as start the new workweek. A disturbance will track across the area Monday. The result will be a chance of scattered showers and t-storms. Look for highs in the 70s.

Another round of warm and humid air surges into the region for Tuesday and Wednesday. Look for highs to climb well into the 80s. With the warmer air in place, look for a slight chance of showers and t-storms Tuesday and Wednesday. However, we should still get plenty of dry hours both days.

Temperatures will cool near 80 both Thursday and Friday. Unfortunately, we’ll still have to deal with hit and miss chances of showers and t-storms. Again, neither day is looking like a washout.

Have a great night and enjoy the cooler weather! –WKBT Cory Malles
