Convicted felon taken into custody in Tomah

The Monroe County Combined Tactical Unit (CTU) was called to the 1400 block of Butts Avenue early Tuesday morning for a report of a 48-year-old convicted felon who was believed to be intoxicated and armed with a firearm.

When the Monroe County CTU and Tomah police arrived on scene at about 2:15 a.m., a negotiator talked to Alan T. Pisarek on the phone. He exited the residence and was taken into custody.

Authorities found multiple firearms in the residence. Pisarek was transported to Tomah Memorial Hospital briefly and then to the Monroe County Jail.

The Tomah Police Department was also assisted by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Tomah Area Ambulance Service, the Tomah Fire Department and the Sparta Area Ambulance Service.

The Monroe County CTU is staffed by specially trained law enforcement personnel from the Tomah Police Department, the Sparta Police Department, the Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
