Convict pleads guilty to stalking rape victim
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A man found guilty of sexual assault 15 years ago has pleaded guilty in Ramsey County to stalking or threatening people involved in his conviction, including the victim, the Hennepin County prosecutor and judge.
Thomas Evenstad admitted in court Tuesday that he stalked the victim, the Orono police officer who executed a search warrant in the case, three neighbors and others. The 48-year-old Edina man pleaded guilty to five counts of stalking.
Prosecutors say Evenstad created unwanted websites in his victims’ names and linked them to his own blog where he would berate them.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press says Evenstad will be sentenced in August.
