Continued Cold Today With Mix Of Sun & Clouds

Friday’s High: 30F / Tonight’s Low: 26F – Last updated Friday, November 8, 2019 at 8:46 AM…

It was another very cold morning across the region. Lows were in the single digits to low teens. Our traditional colder spots north and east were in the single digits below zero. Brrr!

It will be a touch warmer today, but temps will still be cold and well short of average with highs in the upper 20s to low 30s. Expect some mid and high-levels clouds to filter the sunshine at times.

It won’t be nearly as cold tonight, thanks to cloudy periods and a south wind 5-15 mph, with gusts to 20 mph possible in spots. Expect lows in the mid 20s, but of course the winds will make it feel colder with wind chills in the teens. A few flurries are possible far north and east, but most areas will be dry.

Becoming cloudy Saturday as a weak clipper and cold front move in from the northwest. There will be a slight chance of light rain and snow showers Saturday afternoon into Saturday evening. It will be a bit warmer Saturday (compared to where we’ve been) with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Plenty of clouds will linger Sunday, along with a slight chance of light snow showers or flurries. It will turn colder again Sunday with highs in the low-mid 30s. Temps will drop into the teens Sunday night.

Looking Ahead… More unseasonably cold air follows the weekend system, with highs Monday and Tuesday only in the low-mid 20s. Lows will be in the single digits and teens. Skies will be mostly cloudy Monday, then expect some sunshine Tuesday.

Clouds increase for Wednesday with a chance of light snow by Wednesday afternoon and into Wednesday night. Highs Wednesday will be in the upper 20s. The chance for light snow could linger into Thursday morning as well, with highs around freezing.

Temps look to warm up a bit later in the week with highs Friday in the mid-upper 30s, then low 40s Saturday. Both days look dry at this point, with partly sunny skies.

Happy Friday and have a great weekend! -Bill Graul
