Construction continues on La Crosse Center

Some work has moved ahead quicker due to reduced use

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Work is continuing on the La Crosse Center renovation.

The steel structure for the expanded portion of the Center is finished.

And walls are being brought in.

The work that is happening now will give community members a first chance to see what the renovation space will look like.

While traffic is down in the facility because of the pandemic, that is actually helping the construction effort.

“The outer structure, the expansion piece of itself, that is right on target. What has moved ahead and moved forward quicker than we had thought would and that’s the internal upgrades and things like that that are happening,” said La Crosse Center director Art Fahey.

The first part of the project is expected to be completed in January of next year.
