Community weighs in on La Crosse superintendent search
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The public chimed in on who they think should be the next superintendent for the School District of La Crosse on Tuesday.
A community listening session continued to move forward the selection process.
Parents and La Crosse residents helped create a unique leadership profile. Common themes for the criteria included good communication, strong leadership, and someone who is passionate about inclusion and diversity.
The consulting firm assisting with the hiring process, McPherson & Jacobson, says these listening sessions help guide the school board through the interview process.
“We want to get the input, what the people are thinking, what they’re looking for in their next superintendent. Then we invite them to be involved in the process and try to be as transparent as possible,” said Gary McAndrew, a consultant with the firm.
The board plans to complete the search and selection process by the end of March 2020.
