Community members remake famous Thriller performance to celebrate Halloween

LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) – We are a week away from Halloween, and the La Crescent community is putting the thrill in “Thriller” to celebrate.

This is the third Thriller dance performance, a choreographed re-creation of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” music video.

Community members, both dancers, and non-dancers dress up as zombies to help bring the performance to life.

The event organizer brought this idea to La Crescent after growing up with an event similar in her home state of Kentucky.

Many of the members have been practicing for multiple months and tonight they were able to put that practice to work.

“To have a good turnout down at the show and for just to have fun. I mean this is just a good family-friendly free fun event to help kick off a safe Halloween week,” said performance organizer, Meagan Waddell.

Waddell says the performance has gotten bigger each year they’ve done it and she hopes it is something they can continue to do in the future.
