Community Credit Union merger coming soon

Merger will offer members more choices and services

A local credit union is changing its name soon.

On Monday, September 1, the Community Credit Union is merging with Verve, a Credit Union from eastern Wisconsin.

CCU will gain more access to resources and Verve will get its first location on the western side of the state.

Aside from a name change, the CEO of CCU says there are many potential benefits to the merger. He also says the merger will help them offer better business loans, more mortgage loan types, and other services to their members.

“There’s no financial necessity to do this. This is clearly a growth strategy for both credit unions, and it’s going to bring the resources to this side of the state that will allow us to continue to grow and serve members in ways we just haven’t been able to do,” said Community Credit Union CEO Chris Butler.

The CEO says no one should lose there job because there aren’t any other Verve locations in our area.
