Common Council Votes for Budget Reduction Plan

The budget reduction plan was unanimously approved

LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) — La Crosse’s Common Council voted this afternoon to make millions in cuts to its annual budget.

The budget reduction plan was unanimously approved.

The cuts are in response to $4.5 million in expected shortfalls because of the coronavirus.

The plan includes cutting $525,000 from the public library half a million for streets and lighting and parks and rec.

Cuts of $400,000 dollars are planned for the La Crosse Center.
