Cold Sunshine Today & Friday
Thursday’s Forecast High: 7°F, Tonight’s Low: -13°F
Light snow fell across the region last night with totals ranging from a few tenths of an inch to just over an inch.
Clouds are hanging on this morning, but the snow has moved well east of the area. Behind the cold front, much colder air has settled into the Upper Midwest. Air temps are in the single digits on either side of zero this morning, but wind chills are in the teens and 20s below zero. A WIND CHILL ADVISORY is in place for the northern and western parts of our viewing area this morning. Today is an ALERT DAY due to that advisory and that wind chills could get as cold as -35°F at times.
The clouds will clear this morning and we’ll see sunshine throughout your Thursday. Highs today will be in the single digits.
Mostly clear and bitterly cold tonight. Lows will drop into the teens below zero.
More sunshine ahead for Friday as high pressure remains in control. However, it will be another very cold day. Highs will top out in the upper single digits to low teens.
Clouds will increase Friday night ahead of a cold front. The front will bring a chance of snow showers on Saturday, but it will also bring a nice warm up ahead of it. Highs on Saturday will be in the low 30s.
Sunshine for Sunday, but a bit colder than average. Highs will be in the mid to upper 20s.
A more potent system looks to bring the chance of rain/snow Monday. Stay tuned for updates on this system through the weekend.
Have a great Thursday and stay warm! -Michelle Poedel
