Coffee tasting raises money for Central America Library project
Grounded Specialty hosts coffee tasting book sale fundraiser
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Grounded Specialty Coffee held a fundraiser to support the Global Partners Nicaragua Lending Library project.
Coffee tasting was offered as well as a book sale.
Money raised from the event goes to buying books to fill book shelves of libraries in rural Central America.
Even with the event directed towards Coffee lovers, they were not the only ones to help out with the cause.
“We also have a lot of local schools involved in this project which really is pretty exciting. There’s a cultural element to it. We’ve got high schools that actually write and illustrate books that we take down and put into our lending libraries,” said Administrative lead on the Nicaragua Lending Library Project Sheila Riley.
