Cochrane-Fountain City names Jo-Ellen Fairbanks superintendent


FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. — Jo-Ellen Fairbanks will become superintendent of the Cochrane-Fountain City School District on July 1.
Cfc Superintendent (2)The school board chose Fairbanks from a field of 22 candidates, according to a district news release. She replaces Michele Butler, whom the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School Board selected in May to become its new superintendent, effective July 1.
Fairbanks has 27 years of experience in education, including being a science teacher, an associate dean at Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids, instruction director for CESA 9 and the Beloit (Wis.) School District and, most recently, as principal at the Portage (Wis.) Academy of Achievement and assistant principal at Portage High School.
