Clean up at Leuth Park
The clean has been an annual event since the park was remolded in 2018
LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – Volunteers showed up Saturday to help keep La Crosse looking beautiful.
ORA trails volunteers along with the city’s parks and recreational department took time to help clean up Leuth Park.
The winter usually covers up trash and debris, and as the snow melts, it creates an “urban tumbleweed”.
As the newly loose trash moves, it can be caught in fences and brush areas around the park.
Keeping public areas like this clean benefits people who use the park every day, and the city as a whole.
“When we have parks that really beautiful and well kept, it gives so much ownership from the community of our parks. And it’s kind of a perpetual motion machine that get’s going, where people love the park more, they take better care of it, they love it even more, and they continue to take care of it,” said Jed Olson, the Executive Director of the ORA Trails.
The clean has been an annual event since the park was remolded in 2018.
