City of La Crosse asking residents to adopt boulevard trees, water them
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The La Crosse Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Department is asking city residents to water nearby boulevard trees.
Dan Trussoni, the Parks, Forestry, Buildings and Grounds Manager said, “Any extra watering given to the trees will help relieve drought stress.”
“The best method of watering these trees and shrubs is to let your garden hose trickle at the base of the tree. Do this for 4-5 hours at a time, twice a week, until we receive some substantial rain,” Trussoni continued.
Leaves turning yellow or brown and falling off the tree are signs of drought stress.
