Spreading Christmas cheer to Onalaska care residents

Residents at the Onalaska Care Center will now have their own personal Christmas themed yard for the holidays

ONALASKA, Wis (WKBT) – Christmas cheer is for everyone, young and old, and residents in an area nursing home could use it the most.

Residents at the Onalaska Care Center will now have their own personal Christmas themed yard for the holidays.

A nursing director for Onalaksa Care Center asked for $500 so volunteers and staff could put up 6 or 8 trees for the residents.

And within just one hour people had already donated over $1,000.

The actions of the community can inspire hope in everyone.

“I think it is a reminder, that things can be ok and that they will be okay, and that there is a light, and there is hope still for us,” said Jeremiah Galvan, the Director of Nursing at the Onalaska Care Center.

This the first year an event like this has taken place.
