Children’s Museum of La Crosse hosts Countdown to Noon event
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Sunday is New Years Eve and many will be staying up until midnight to ring in the new year.
The Children’s museum of La Crosse held their countdown to noon Saturday, where kids and those who will not be up late Sunday night can still celebrate the countdown.
The event included kids making noisemakers and party hats, getting their faces painted, and, of course, counting down the clock. There were about 350 people at the event today.
Museum directors say this is all about celebrating the holiday as a family.
“Even some adults don’t want to have to stay up until midnight and a lot of times kids and adults don’t get to do that New Year’s celebration together, so this offers an opportunity for that. A lot of times families have guests from out of town this time of year, so they can bring them to the Children’s Museum and have some fun together,” said Leanne Poellinger, marketing and development director at the Children’s Museum of La Crosse.
The museum has held this event every year since it opened in 1999.
