Children’s Museum celebrates the 22nd annual America Recycles Day
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The Children’s Museum is celebrating the 22nd annual America Recycles Day by teaching kids about sustainability.
They learned how to reduce, reuse, and recycle through interactive activities.
That includes planting seeds, composting, making shopping bag parachutes, and more.
The museum’s program coordinator says their goal is to get children engaged with sustainable practices early.
“The motivation really came from a lot of the children who are activists right now, in popular society and culture, by making that push to be friendlier to the Earth. People like Greta Thunberg, are wonderful examples for other kids of all ages, that they can make a difference through small and simple things,” Jaclyn Freeberg said.
Six local organizations and volunteers from UW-L and Viterbo helped put on this event.
