Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin discharges last young patient from Waukesha parade attack
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WKBT) – The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin says the last child patient remaining in the hospital from the Waukesha Christmas parade attack has been discharged.
The healthcare system made the announcement Friday.
Leaders say the hospital treated 18 kids as a result of the tragedy.
The hospital wrote in part, “While one child sadly did not survive, we are thankful that the medical conditions of the others have improved. Though they are home now, we know this is a journey and many face a long recovery as a result of serious injuries, both physical and mental. They will continue to need the love, support and dedication of the community.”
The hospital went on to say it will no longer be providing updates related to the attack.
Darrell Brooks Jr. is accused of killing six people and injuring dozens of others after driving his SUV through the parade Nov. 21.
