Charlotte’s Bridal donates 60+ dresses to Salvation Army Thrift Store
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Prom season is just around the corner and for some the dance can be a stressful, and expensive night.
Charlotte’s Bridal & Formal Wear in La Crosse recognizes that struggle for many young students and their families, so they donated over 60 dresses to the Salvation Army Thrift Store.
The bridal store is expanding space for more wedding dresses and decided to donate their colorful dance attire.
Each dress is valued between $300-$700, amounting to nearly $20,000 worth of sparkles and sequins. The Salvation Army slashed that price tag to just $30 per dress.
The thrift store’s Manager, Jeremiah Conca, says about 20 dresses have already been purchased.
“We had one lady come in and buy 6-8 of them for her daughter and her daughter’s friends because she thought it was such a great deal. She thought what she’d spent on ten dresses she’d normally have spent on one dress,” said Conca. “Anything that we can do to to help the community cut down on those costs, we’re more than happy to do so.”
If you’re looking to buy a prom dress for a bargain, you better hurry!
Conca says the dresses are selling quickly, and expects them to be gone in the next week or two. The Salvation Army Thrift Store is located at 728 Copeland Ave, La Crosse.
