Central High School Memorial Day ceremony held
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — An annual Memorial Day weekend tradition continued this morning in La Crosse. Central High School held its Memorial Day ceremony today.
The program included a flag presentation and Central’s robed choir. The keynote address was delivered by Dominick Hove, a senior at Central who’s enlisting in the Marines.
After graduating tonight, he’ll get on a plane in three weeks for boot camp in San Diego.
He says he wants to remind his classmates and members of the community of the reason behind Memorial Day.
The Memorial Day program at Central has been held every year since 1923.It’s believed to be the longest-running Memorial Day observance in the country.
