Cashton Fire Department, royalty host ‘Fill the Boot’ drive for Sun Prairie
CASHTON, Wis. (WKBT) — Some local emergency responders are hoping to help the Sun Prairie family of the fallen firefighter.
Cashton Fire and Rescue hosted a ‘Fill the Boot’ donation drive Monday. The Department, along with Cashton Royalty, collected money to benefit people impacted by last week’s explosion, including the family of the fire fighter who was killed.
“When it’s fire departments and first responders, it’s just a family thing. You don’t have to know somebody for it to touch you personally. And to know that something like that could happen here, in our backyard or in our community, it just makes you want to support them during their time,” said Cashton First Responder Holly Boisen.
The “Fill the Boot” donation drive ended Monday night, but you can still contribute. The Bank of Cashton will accept drop-off and mailed-in donations. Make checks out to the Cashton Fire Department, with Sun Prairie in the memo.
