Carr scores 35 points in Gophers’ season-opening win
Marcus Carr scored 35 points to lead Minnesota men’s basketball past UW-Green Bay 99-69 at Williams Arena Wednesday night.
Carr was 12-22 from the floor and a perfect 7-7 from the free throw line. He also recorded seven rebounds and four assists.
The Gophers shot 43 percent from the floor but just 20 percent from downtown.
UW-Green Bay freshman and Central grad Terrance Thompson scored three points and added three rebounds before fouling out in his college debut.
