Caledonia, Winona football advance to state semifinals
Caledonia and Winona football each advanced to the MSHSL state semifinal round with victories on Friday night.
Winona forced several turnovers on defense and used its strong running game on offense to seal a 24-14 win over Simley to advance in Class 4A.
Caledonia battled Pipestone Area in Class 2A. The Arrows scored a touchdown on the opening drive, but Caledonia then built a 49-6 lead by halftime, before eventually winning 56-14.
Noah King was 13-of-19 through the air for 324 yards and six touchdowns. He also ran eight times for 97 yards and a touchdown.
