Caledonia Football falls short in section quarterfinals

Caledonia Football committed several costly turnovers en route to losing to Lewiston-Altura 34-14 in Tuesday night’s Section 1AA quarterfinals.

The No. 3 seed Warriors committed four turnovers within the first three quarters–three fumbles and an interception. Lewiston-Altura used a strong running game headlined by Collin Bonow to dominate the line of scrimmage. Were it not for several Caledonia goal line stands, the Cardinals would have made the score more lopsided.

Lewiston-Altura also completed an onside kick in the second quarter after grabbing the 7-0 lead. The Cardinals kicker drilled the ball right at a Warrior, sending the ball off the player and right back toward the Cardinals’ Nick Brand to haul it in and gain possession.
