Caledonia football advances to 2A championship with 43-12 semifinal win
After working through some early mistakes, Noah King and Caledonia football found a rhythm and dominated Barnesville 43-12 on Friday to advance to the 2A state championship game.
King sailed his first six passes of the game, but he and the offense hit their stride in the middle quarters, scoring 22 points in the second and 21 in the third. King finished 13 of 25 for 277 passing yards and three touchdowns. He also ran 11 times for 34 yards and two scores.
Cole Kronebusch was the top receiver for the Warriors, hauling in five passes for 164 yards and a touchdown. Eli King also had five receptions for 94 yards and two touchdowns.
Linebacker Jed Kasten led the defense with 10 tackles and 2.5 tackles. The entire defense totaled 13 TFL and two sacks.
Caledonia will try to make it five consecutive state titles Nov. 29 at 1 p.m. against Minneapolis North.
