Busy first month for Gundersen Winona campus
Campus opened in early December
The Gundersen Winona Campus has already seen a high number of patients in the facility’s first month.
The new campus is located in the renovated building that formerly held K-Mart.
Staff say the numbers were manageable during the first weeks and have increased since opening.
While the campus is open, there are still details being worked out.
“One thing that’s unique about this location is we are seeing patients in one section of the building, while the rest of it is under construction, so there has been a few little things that have come up with patients going to the wrong door to be seen, we’ve some banners out front to try to redirect people,” said Chuck Johnson, Gundersen Health System administrative director of Minnesota and Iowa.
Urgent Care, radiology and laboratory services opened early last month.
Other services will be opened by next summer.
