Building beds for every child who needs one
All beds come complete with a frame, mattress, pillow, bedding, and a comforter or quilt
LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – A project is underway with one clear goal: make sure every child in La Crosse County has a bed to sleep on.
The Sleep In heavenly Peace event took place Saturday with numerous local groups volunteering their time to build beds for kids who may not have their own.
Each bed built will be a twin, that can come as a single or a bunk.
All beds come complete with a frame, mattress, pillow, bedding, and a comforter or quilt.
“It’s a big problem, and we’re just trying to help one kid at a time. Our motto is ‘No kid sleeps on the floor in our town’ and we believe in that. We want every kid to have a bed,” said Mike Suchla, the president of La Crosse County Sleep In Heavenly Peace.
If you would like to donate new bedding supplies you can visit the Sleep in Heavenly Peace Facebook page for more information.
