Bucks waive Ersan Ilyasova, Bogdanovic trade under investigation
The attempted trade for the Bucks to get Bogdan Bogdanovic looks to be officially over. The Bucks have released Ersan Ilyasova, who was one of the pieces in the failed deal.
His $7 million salary would have become guaranteed money on Friday.
The New York Times is reporting the NBA will open an investigation into the failed sign-and-trade between the Bucks, Kings, and guard Bogdan Bogdanovic, who reportedly never agreed to go to Milwaukee in the first place. With no trade, Bogdanovic enters restricted free agency on Friday.
In the meantime, the Bucks drafted two shooters in the second round of Wednesday’s draft. They took Louisville junior Jordan Nwora and Utah State’s Sam Merrill. Nwora was a Third Team All-American, and both he and Merrill shot over 40 percent from three-point range a year ago.
