Brotherly Bond: Prairie du Chien’s Koenig twins dominating on the mat
Prairie du Chien wrestling doesn’t have a single senior this season. What they do have is a twin bond that’s wreaking havoc on the rest of Division 2.
Twins Rhett and Ryder Koenig are continuing a family tradition with Prairie wrestling that started with their older brother Reid, who is four years older.
Now the twins are both ranked in the top 6 in their classes, but in true brotherly fashion, they always save their best for when they wrestle each other.
“He’s going to be trying to get on my nerves,” said two-time individual state champion Rhett. “He knows how to do it really well. He’s not going to back down from me.”
“He’s like, ‘You can take me, you can take anyone,'” Ryder said. “It’s really cool seeing our family grow up and making Prairie wrestling better and better every year.”
On Friday they dual G-E-T and Aquinas in La Crosse.
