Brett Favre says Packers ‘burned a bridge’ with Aaron Rodgers by drafting Jordan Love

Former Packers quarterback Brett Favre said Wednesday on the Rich Eisen Show the Packers drafting quarterback Jordan Love in the first round of last week’s NFL Draft has burned a bridge with starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“I think they burned a bridge that’s going to be hard to overcome. At some point, I think it will rear its ugly head,” Favre said via phone interview.

Favre believes Rodgers will have a career trajectory just as he did back in 2008.

“I think Aaron will finish [his career] somewhere else,” Favre said before Eisen could finish asking the question.

Rodgers signed a then-record contract extension back in 2018 which has four more years left, meaning he wouldn’t be a free agent until after the 2023 season.
