UPDATE: Nobody injured in house fire near Hokah

HOKAH, Minn. (WKBT) – Nobody was injured in a house fire near Hokah Sunday.

The Hokah Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 12:20 p.m. to a house burning on State Highway 26.

All residents and pets were outside of the home when the fire started.

Firefighters say the stairway to the attic was burning, so they had to use ladders and cut through a wall to shoot water into the house.

It took crews more than two hours to contain the fire.

La Crescent, Caledonia and Brownsville fire departments assisted at the scene.

Tri-State Ambulance and Brownsville Ambulance were also present.

Firefighters say the house is most likely a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
