Bradlee Neil Karlsbroten

Bradlee was born October 25, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Ernest and Cora (Kroshus) Karlsbroten. He moved to Arizona and, when he was about 10 years old, returned to Highland township where he attended the Grindeland school and lived with an aunt and uncle on the farm.

On Dec. 17, 1949 Bradlee married Dorothy Ellestad at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove.

He and Dorothy farmed side by side, milking cows and later raising beef and hogs. Bradlee fixed televisions in the evening. He was a handy man and good at repairing and making things for himself and his kids. Building a go cart and refurbishing a pontoon for boating on the Mississippi were just a couple of his projects. He and Dorothy were good dancers and also enjoyed outings at the Skyline on Saturday nights. He was a confirmed and active member of the Highland Lutheran Church.

Bradlee is survived by his wife Dorothy, three sons; Dennis (Virginia), Robert (Paula), Brian (Donna) and one daughter Cindy (Jim) Thorson, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, one sister Janice (George) Christian, brother-in-law Donald Ellestad and sister-in-laws, Ione Quinnell and Norma Johnson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sisters and one brother. Thank you to the staff at Gundersen Tweeten Care Center for the great care he received.

Visitation will be Friday, September 30th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Roble Funeral Home, Spring Grove.

A private family service will be held later with burial in the Highland Lutheran Cemetery.
