Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse to open June 15
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse announced today the plans to reopen facilities on Monday, June 15.
“Summer programming will open with a new structure to help ensure the safety of participants,” according to a news release from the clubs’ board, which added that the clubs are committed to work with the La Crosse County Health Department.
The only clubs that will open initially will be those not based at schools, the release said. Those clubs — Terry Erickson, Amie L. Mathy, Schuh/Mullen and Huber Homes — will operate with limited participation and hours.
Support from the La Crosse Area Emergency Response Fund will enable the clubs to provide programs “at a very affordable rate for families, with additional full and partial scholarships for those who qualify,” the news release said.
The clubs, which had shut down because of the COVID-19 pandemic, will make an announcement regarding athletic programs by Thursday, June 4, based on recommendations from the county health department.
