Boys & Girls Clubs in Tomah celebrates expansion plans
Expansion will extend space into building at corner of Superior Avenue and Milwaukee Street in Tomah
TOMAH, Wis. (WKBT) – The Tomah Boys and Girls Clubs is celebrating an expansion, thanks to a local business.
The club will purchase the building at the corner of Superior Avenue and Milwaukee Street that is attached to the existing Club.
The space was home to a law firm, that’s selling to the club at a reduced price.
The expanded space will allow for more program space and the teen center will also move into the new facility.
Club leaders say the expanded space comes as the pandemic is creating a spotlight on the growing demand.
“What we’ve discovered during COVID is our kids need places that are safe, that are positive, that are nurturing for them to attend. We’ve always known that, but now more than ever we see that,” said Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Wisconsin CEO Karen DeSanto.
The renovations may start as soon as next week.
